Parker Mann, Director of Bands
Parker Mann is currently serving in his first year as the Director of Bands for Skyline High School but has been with the Coyote Bands for the previous four years as our Front Ensemble instructor. He holds a Bachelors degree in orchestral music performance and a Masters degree in Jazz Performance from Arizona State University. Born and raised in Richmond Virginia, he has performed with professionals music groups around the valley and around the country, including performances for NPR, the BBC, the Grand Rapids Symphony and local groups like the Salt River Brass Band, Chandler Orchestra, Scottsdale Philharmonic, Phoenix Theater and many others. Prior to this position at Skyline, he was the percussion faculty head at the Phoenix Conservatory of Music and taught African and world percussion at ASU.

Jayson Davis, Brass Caption Head
Jayson Davis is an in-demand jazz musician both here in Arizona and around the United States. Currently he is finishing his Masters in Jazz Performance at ASU. In addition to his work as giging musician, he serves as the Director of the ASU Jazz Repertory Band and is currently the Faculty Trumpet Instructor at South Mountain Community College.
Dylan Zenner, Woodwind Caption Head, Jazz Band Instructor
Dylan Zenner is a music education student currently studying at MCC. He has been studying and performing saxophone for well over ten years; he has performed in regional and all state honor bands, as well as performed throughout Europe and the United States. He is currently a performer in a variety of ensembles ranging from classical music, to jazz, to rock.
As a teacher he has educated in a range of settings, from one on one tutoring, to instructing woodwind sections upwards of 30+ students for marching band.
Josh Stovall, Front Ensemble Caption Head
Josh Stovall is a musician from Tempe, AZ specializing in mallet percussion and music technology. He studied music at the Arizona State University Herberger School of the Arts. Josh has learned from J.B. Smith, Shaun Tiburg, Dom Moio, and Scott Werner. As an arranger, Josh provides music for programs across the valley including Highland High School, Perry High School, Mountain View High School, Desert Mountain Percussion Theatre, and the Corona Steel Drum Band. Josh currently teaches front ensemble at Corona Del Sol, Vision Percussion and here at Skyline High School. As a performer, Josh has been a part of many esteemed ensembles such as the Phoenix Boys Choir, the Arizona Ambassadors of Music, and various ensembles at Arizona State University such as the ASU Contemporary Percussion Ensemble, the Pan Devils Steel Drum Band, the ASU Wind Orchestra, and the ASU Symphony Orchestra.
Brandon Bonilla, Front Ensemble Instructor
Brandon Bonilla is a graduate and alumni of the Skyline Coyote Marching Band. In addition to his experience at Skyline, he also has been a part of Breakthrough indoor percussion. Currently he is helping our Front Ensemble master their parts and compete at the highest level.
Wardell King, Battery Caption Head
Wardell King has worked with groups in Arizona, California, New Hampshire, Nevada, and Kentucky in both the marching and indoor percussion arenas. Mr. King stresses the importance of creating an integration of concert and marching percussion techniques to enhance the quality of each student’s performance. His percussion writing is designed to closely integrate with all components of the wind score in order to support the overall musical effect of the band. Wardell was an active member of the Arizona Sun Drum and Bugle Corps percussion ensemble and has an extensive background in all levels of music education.
Mr. King is currently the percussion caption head/arranger for Highland (Gilbert), Skyline (Mesa), and Gilbert (Gilbert) High Schools in Arizona. Wardell is also a consultant/ arranger for Cactus High School (Peoria) Peoria High School (Peoria), Sandra Day O’Conner High School (Glendale) Washington High School (Phoenix) and the WGI Independent Open Finalist Paragon Competitive Arts.
Mr. King has previously served as caption head/arranger/clinician for various other high schools in the state of Arizona. Mr. King also served as the marching percussion specialist at Northern Arizona University (2001-2003), bass drum/ snare drum, instructor for the 2006 Drum Corps International Division Two World Champion Academy Drum and Bugle Corps (2004-2007), and the WGI Scholastic A Finalist/Champion Page High School. Riley Hart, Visual and Marching Caption Head
Riley Heart is our Visual Caption head. He was born in Chandler AZ and graduated from Hamilton High School. He has performed with two world class DCI groups and is currently a member of the Sun Devil Marching Band.
